Tours and Pricing

Families, schools, youth groups, international travelers, and local Lancaster-area residents visit the Amish Farm and House to immerse themselves in Lancaster’s Amish culture and to learn how life for Amish folks has evolved in modern times.

During our tours you will get answers to questions, such as:

  • Why do the Amish not drive cars or use electricity?
  • Where do the Amish live and work?
  • How can you tell if a home is Amish-owned?
  • What crops do Amish farmers grow?

Our tours are un-scripted and conversational. Our guides are friendly, knowledgeable, trained, and are here to help you learn and have a great time!

Very authentic attraction plus a once in a lifetime Amish home visitation experience Our experience began at the Amish Farm and House tourist attraction located next to the Target on Route 30 East. The "Farm" grounds are well maintained and the buildings have informational signs for learning in greater detail about Amish Farm life but young kids will just enjoy seeing the animals and burning off some energy walking around the grounds. Our itinerary as suggested by the vendor allowed only an hour for the farm portion but we arrived early and allowed 90 minutes since there is much to see and we could have spent even more time exploring the exhibits. There are some real Amish, not actors, to learn from here -- especially at the schoolhouse. The House tour is well done and our guide there was Devon (house tour guides are not Amish) The displays of clothing worn by men and women at various ages was informative and she took care to explain how the Amish use alternative fuels and methods to live among us, but disconnected from us. Our sunset picnic was hosted by the Esh family who have 7 children. They no longer farm commercially but as more and more Amish are doing, operate several businesses from their home to generate income. The food was delicious and the family members were very engaging with the guests -- not actually dining with us but making sure we had plenty to eat and drink. For the younger kids there was an enclosed trampoline and a small playground setup in the yard. This was an excellent way to learn a bit about the Amish lifestyle at the tourist attraction and then follow it up with a chance to spend time at an Amish home and learn directly from them about their practices.

Amazing hands-on, interactive experience with animals/learning about Amish history.. We went to the Amish Farm Animal Fun Tour with two grandparents and a bunch of kids ages 3-8. They had an absolute BLAST! Our kids were hugging baby goats, holding newborn turkey chicks, feeding a baby calf, horses, goats, and donkeys! The tour started right on time; the staff was informative and super patient with our crew. I wish I signed up for the "goat-yoga" that they offered on-premise-- looks super cool!

Extremely informative The Amish Country Van Tour was extremely informative. Chris was our van driver. He had a unique prospective because his parents had been Amish and had converted to Mennonite. We toured the local area with stops at a quilt shop, very interesting and a local farm where soft pretzels were their specialty. Along the ride, Chris explained about some of the Amish customs and some of the things they are allowed to do/not to do by the church. He also explained some differences between Amish versus Mennonite. Could not have asked for a better tour. I highly recommend. Because of time restraints we skipped the Amish Farm and House Tour which only cost $6 extra.

An absolute joy We couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience we had. The Esh family was incredibly kind and hospitable, and made us feel so welcome in their home. Food was great, and the experience was better. 10/10.

Very nice tour Very informative Amish Country Tour included a store, Farm and house. The most informative was the coach tour. We had a very good guide, stopped whenever the group wanted to take a picture. Not sure but I believe the guides name was Ann in buss #5. She was very knowledgeable of Amish ways and practices. Well worth our time and money.

Goat Yoga GOAT YOGA! Ok, so I was doing more playing than yoga, but what fun. The yoga was a level anyone could do (or not do). The staff was good at making sure everyone had some goat time if they wanted, as well as cleaning up when goats did what goats do! Would recommend and would do it again!
