Tours and Pricing

Families, schools, youth groups, international travelers, and local Lancaster-area residents visit the Amish Farm and House to immerse themselves in Lancaster’s Amish culture and to learn how life for Amish folks has evolved in modern times.

During our tours you will get answers to questions, such as:

  • Why do the Amish not drive cars or use electricity?
  • Where do the Amish live and work?
  • How can you tell if a home is Amish-owned?
  • What crops do Amish farmers grow?

Our tours are un-scripted and conversational. Our guides are friendly, knowledgeable, trained, and are here to help you learn and have a great time!

Interesting Experience The highlight of the tour was our tour guide. She was knowledgeable on the Amish and also very funny.

Ma per favore... Che gran delusione. Sorge nel bel mezzo di un'area commerciale, di fianco ad un supermercato Target. É una ricostruzione Amish senza Amish all'interno. Carina la casa e molto brava la guida ma si assapora la cultura Amish molto più girando in zona che in questa attrazione per turisti. Per carità.....evitare assolutamente

Average tour The tour wasn't exactly what we were expecting, but thought it would be a little more informative. Our driver was nice and did share some info as we drove around. Sometimes we got the feeling that the answers to some of our questions were more of a guess than actual facts. We made two stops. The first one was to a family farm that had a few baked goods and a couple items of fresh produce. There wasn't a tour or anything, we just kinda looked around for about 10-15 min after everyone bought their goods. Then we had an option of a place with ice cream and souvenirs or to a quilt shop. We all said quilt shop but got convinced to go to the ice cream place. It was definitely a tourist trap, but had really good ice cream and some things to buy (not sure how much was actually made by amish other than the food items).
Back to the house we went after our 1.5 hour long bud ride. Some of the pictures on the tripadvisor were accurate but quite a few are not. The lady giving the tour was nice but also seemed to kind of guess when answering some of the groups questions.

The farm itself just didn't feel like a farm at all. I guess it's understandable since it's between a Target and a housing development. They did have some animals and things to see, but it definitely felt very tourist trappy (if that's a word).

For the price, it wasn't bad. We had higher expectations but overall it was kind of an average experience. The description of things on TA made it seem like it would be a bit more immersive than what we experienced.

Beautiful Lancaster with a tour guide is a must! We had a great tour of Lancaster from our bus driver Tim! He was very knowledgeable and provided excellent service and recommendations for our quest to see as much as we could while we were in Lancaster. The bus was comfortable, and we went to a Amish Quilt shop on a family farm where we met several of the family members. Beautiful gardens and homes on our tour.

Best experience! This was an amazing experience for our visiting church group! The Amish Farm house tour and premises was great, however, the family and home that we visited for dinner was icing on the cake!! Homemade zucchini cake and shoofly pie with local Lapp’s ice cream was for dessert. All was delicious! My favorite was visiting with the family and learning more about their lifestyle and livelihood! This was the absolute best part of our week! I highly recommend.

Great introduction to Amish life Our tour guide Tim was very knowledgeable and personable. His recommendation to purchase a cinnamon and sugar pretzel was right on. It was still hot! We learned how to identify an Amish home as we drive past.
The farm was large with lots of animals and the house tour was interesting.

An afternoon well spent. Very informative and interesting activity. The bus tour took us around the countryside and the driver educated us about the Amish and Mennonites. Made a couple of shopping stops but they were not too long. The 1/2 hour tour of the house provided more about the Amish, how they lived, and their customs. The tour guide was very happy to answer any questions.
Walking around the farm was very pleasant with some farm animals to observe and feed.

An amazing experience Our experience was phenomenal, and I attribute it mostly to our amazing tour guide, Tim. He was so captivating with his personal knowledge of the Amish. He would stop by so many houses and tell us exactly what that family’s trade was. He explained the “why’s” behind the Amish ways and traditions. He was humorous and friendly too. He even offered a free Amish pretzel to anyone who could guess his home state. He answered questions and was never scripted in his dialogue. He used every minute to talk of things we saw as we passed by. I learned so much and was sad when the bus tour was over.
