Amish Church Day
July 14
Event Navigation
Please know that Sundays in Lancaster County present an interesting experience. The Amish never work on Sundays as it is their worship day. All Amish businesses, farmers markets and roadside stands are closed on Sundays.
We are open on Sundays and continue to give tours but please be aware we can not stop on Amish farms during our Sunday bus tours. Our Countryside Bus tours on Sunday are a bit different than on other days of the week. You might see where the Amish are having church or a lot of buggies traveling the backroads during the afternoon or maybe games of Amish volleyball. Certainly have your camera ready to capture the peaceful beauty of Lancaster Country on a Sunday.
Since shopping at Amish stores is not an option on Sundays, our museum gift shop is a great alternative. Our gift shop has handcrafted Amish gifts and souvenirs from all over Amish Country. Our gift shop is open 7 days a week, during our normal operating hours.
The farm experience may also be altered when visiting on a Sunday. Most of our artisans do not work on Sundays. Please check our event’s calendar for their weekly schedule.
