Farm Activities--Fun for the whole family!
Buggy rides, Buttercup, Woodcarver, Quilter, Playground, and more...
(In season, April through October)
Buggy Rides--Leave the car keys in your pocket, and take a peaceful carriage ride through our 15-acre farm. Your 15-minute ride will take you around our buildings, through our historic covered bridge, through the fields and meadows, past the schoolhouse, and back. Listen as the driver explains the farm and animals. Your visit would not be complete without a buggy ride!

Quilter--Step into our 19th century corn barn, which has been transformed into a quilt shop. Watch as the quilter demonstrates her skills. Browse the racks of quilts, pot holders, wall hangings, and more. Looking for a Quillow or don't know what they are? Take a look at her wide variety of these uniquely Pennsylvania Dutch pieces. Check out her website www.sewnicetooquilts.com for more info.

Blacksmith--The Amish Farm & House is pleased to host members of the Pennsylvania Artist Blacksmith Association during various times of the year. Our civil-war era blacksmith shop comes alive as the blacksmith pounds away on the anvil. Watch as he demonstrates the art of blacksmithing and listen as he explains the importance of smithing both in colonial America and today! A blacksmith is here during special events and periodically throughout the year. Call for exact dates.

Woodcarver--Visit Chris, our resident woodcarver. He is a nationally known author of several books about the art of whittling. His hand-carved roosters can be seen around the world. Watch as he takes a simple tree branch or twig and transforms it into a beautiful and unique rooster--using just a pocket knife! Inside his shop, see one of the world's smallest carved roosters (you'll have to use a magnifying glass!). One of these small roosters received a certificate from The Guinness Book of World Records! You'll marvel at the wide variety of things that can be done from a simple pocket knife. As a special souvenir, have your name wood-burned onto a "name log". Don't forget about his collection of slingshots too! Your visit to the woodcarver is a must while at The Amish Farm & House!

The Amish Farm & House offers a wide variety of farm animals. On the farm you will find cows, sheep, goats, horses, a miniature horse, various kinds of chickens, peacocks, turkeys, pheasants, and more. Coin feeders are placed around the farm for you to enjoy feeding the animals. Remember, this is an educational farm musuem and not a petting zoo. However, our animals are friendly and like attention. Please enjoy!
